Even Moss Stitch Boot Cuff Crochet Pattern
Skill Level: Easy
Hook: Size: J/10/6mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Yarn: 128 yds bukly weight yarn
2 buttons (size 1¼”)
Size: 12” circumference, 5” height. Stretches to fit calf size 13-15”
Gauge: 4” = 12 sc by 6 rows
|hdc||Half double crochet|
|sc2tog||Single crochet next 2 stitches together|
|sl st||Slip stitch|
Row 1: Working in back loops only, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (8 sc)
Row 2: Working in back loops only, sc in each st across.
Rows 3-8: Repeat row 2. Place a stitch marker at each end of row 8.
Rows 9-42: Repeat row 2.
Fold work lengthwise so that row 42 lines up with the markers on row 8. Working through the stitches of both row 42 and row 8, sl st in each st across.
This should create a circle, with an extra flap of 7 rows. The RS of the fabric is the side where this flap sticks out.
Leg is worked over a multiple of 4 sts, in continuous rounds. Do not join at the end of the rounds.
Rnd 1: With RS facing and working in sides of rows, work 36 sc evenly spaced around the circle (ignoring the flap). (36 sts)
Remove stitch markers.
Rnds 2-8: [Sl st in next st, hdc in next st] around. (18 sl sts, 18 hdc)
Rnd 9: [Sc in each of next 2 sts, sc2tog] around. (27 sts)
Rnd 10: Sc in each st around to last st, sl st in last st.
Sew button onto flap, sewing through both layers of ribbing to hold flap in place. Weave in all ends.
